LPN to BSN programs typically take three-years to complete; less time than a traditional bachelor’s degree. However, if a student works full-time or decides to take additional classes, an extra year may be necessary.

LPN to BSN programs includes both classroom learning and clinical training. Requirements vary according to the degree program, but students must typically complete the following:

  1. All undergraduate coursework in addition to any general education requirements determined by the school.

  2. Fulfill clinical rotation requirements. (Note: Clinicals are coordinated with the student’s local community, hospital or clinic.)

  3. Meet minimum GPA requirement, as defined by the school and program.

  4. Upon graduation, RN candidates register for the NCLEX-RN examination.
